# Employee social programme guardrails — template

> Adapt this with your legal, HR and communications teams. It is a working template, not legal advice.

## The principle
Employees should sound like themselves. Marketing provides useful content, brand guardrails and support, not scripts employees are forced to publish.

## Employees can
- Edit suggested copy before publishing.
- Decline or skip content.
- Add their own point of view and experience.
- Choose the topics they want to be associated with.
- Ask Marketing to correct or remove inaccurate material.

## Employees should not
- Share confidential, commercially sensitive or personal information.
- Make claims they cannot substantiate.
- Present personal opinions as official company statements.
- Disclose customer information without permission.
- Publish regulated or legally sensitive material outside approved policy.

## Marketing will
- Maintain approved content sources and templates.
- Review high-risk campaigns before distribution.
- Keep brand and legal guardrails current.
- Give employees a clear route to ask questions or opt out.
- Measure programme performance without turning individual social activity into punitive monitoring.
