Employee advocacy ROI calculator.

Model a simple scenario for how far employee-powered distribution could travel. Every important assumption is editable because this is a planning model, not a promise of impressions or revenue.

What could your employee network be worth as a distribution channel?

SCENARIO OUTPUT
modelled impressions / month
active employees
employee posts / month
equivalent paid-media value
programme cost / 1,000 modelled impressions
Formulaemployees × participation × posts × average connections × estimated view rate

This deliberately uses a simple model. Connections are not guaranteed impressions; LinkedIn distribution varies by content, profile, audience, timing and many other factors. Organic and paid impressions are also not identical in quality or intent.

Three numbers matter more than the headline output.

01Participation

If nobody posts, the theoretical network is irrelevant. Track the percentage of invited advocates who actually publish.

02Clicks and downstream actions

Impressions are useful for scale, but tracked clicks, conversions and influenced opportunities are closer to commercial value.

03Cost of operation

Include software, programme management and content effort. “Organic” does not mean “free”.

After 30 days, stop using our defaults.

Replace participation, average post performance, clicks and conversion assumptions with your own data. After 90 days, compare content types, employee groups and campaigns. The point of a calculator is to help you decide whether a test is worth running; the point of the test is to replace theory with evidence.

Questions people ask

Are employee advocacy impressions the same as paid LinkedIn impressions?

No. This calculator shows an equivalent paid-media value as a planning comparison, not an assertion that an organic employee impression and a paid impression have identical value.

What view rate should I use?

Use your own historic employee-post data if you have it. If you do not, run several scenarios rather than treating one default as truth.

Does the calculator estimate revenue?

No. Revenue modelling without your conversion rates, deal size and attribution rules would create false precision. Use tracked traffic and CRM outcomes to build that layer with your own data.
